My children have been inspired to read more about the Earth, and the animals and plants within it, after watching several Attenborough documentaries. We love story books but sometimes non-fiction can be fun for kids too. We tend to read a page or two each night before bedtime. Books which give them interesting and fun facts with lots of realistic illustrations have been the most popular. My daughter has particularly enjoyed The Magnificent Book of Ocean Creatures which she currently reads every night.
Did you know that a blue whale's tongue alone is as heavy as an elephant?! Cool right! - it's not just the kids who are fascinated!
