Homemade rainbow playdough

Last week my daughter and I spent an afternoon making playdough. It was a complete revelation to me - who knew it was so easy and quick to make?!

Today we had another go but this time she wanted 'rainbow' dough so we dabbed felt tips into little balls of it and rolled them around until we got the colours we liked - this was her favourite part!

Try it for yourself, I bet you'll never buy it from a shop ever again!

Recipe:

- 1/2 cup salt

- 1 cup cornflour

- 1 tbsp cream of tartar

- 1 tbsp oil

- 1 cup boiling water

- a few drops liquid glycerine

- felt tips to dye it (optional)

Method:

Add all the ingredients into a pan, stir continuously on a low heat until they stick together in a smooth ball. If the mixture seems a little sticky, add a touch more cornflour. When a ball has formed take off the heat and leave to cool - and voila, homemade playdough!
